LOS ANGELES, August 22, 2019 – Hillsides Education Center (HEC), a K-12 nationally accredited therapeutic non-public residential and day school, has begun the new school year with an emphasis on Trauma-Informed Care (TIC).  TIC recognizes the widespread impact of trauma, integrates knowledge of trauma into treatment, and promotes the healing of families, children, and communities. All HEC staff have been trained in TIC, and Hillsides has been designated a Trauma-Informed Care Agency by the National Council for Behavioral Health.

LOS ANGELES, July 24, 2019 -- Hillsides, a Southern California foster care and mental health charity, is asking the community to donate 800 school backpacks filled with school supplies for local children in need or foster care.  Every summer, the agency, which serves almost 17,000 children and families, runs a back-to-school backpack drive for children who cannot afford school supplies.

LOS ANGELES, July 11, 2019 -- Hillsides, a Southern California foster care and mental health charity, has opened a Bienvenidos Family Resource Center in Palmdale. The center, which serves the entire Antelope Valley, offers Family Preservation services.    Family Preservation helps prevent a child’s placement out of the home and ensures a child’s safety within the home. The program also rehabilitates families so they can function more successfully. The Hillsides Palmdale location is only one of two agencies offering Family Preservation services in the area.
